Alena Wadzinske

Computational and Systems Biology program rotation student

Alena earned her bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Data Analytics at the University of St. Thomas. She is pursuing a PhD in Computational and Systems Biology. Alena’s undergraduate research applied computational approaches to analyze bacterial genomes for novel antibiotic resistance genes—an approach she seeks to develop further to understand how bacteria influence human health. In her free time, Alena enjoys singing, reading, and spending time outside.
